Qatar visa requirement - If you are travelling on Qatar Airways flights with a long connection, do not miss the opportunity to spend time with pleasure and get acquainted with the rich culture and traditions of Qatar.
Just add a stop in Doha from 5 to 96 hours to the reservation and send a request for a free transit visa or you can apply through a Tourist visa online in advance.
Thanks to the new rules, citizens from 80 countries of the world can use the simplified procedure for entering Qatar without a visa. If your country is included in this list, then preliminary paperwork is not required.
Electronic Travel Authorisation
Individuals who are not eligible for visa-free entry, but who hold a valid residence permit or visit visa to either Schengen countries, Australia, Canada, UK, USA or New Zealand, can obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) free of charge* by completing an online application prior to travelling.
The form is easy to fill in. You will be asked to provide:
• proof of accommodation in Qatar (e.g. hotel booking, or your host’s address)
• details of your return (or onward) travel
• a copy of your passport (with a minimum validity of six months)
• a copy of your residence permit or visa to any one of the eligible countries stated above (with a minimum validity of 30 days).

After receiving an approved Qatar transit visa, make sure that the data on the visa matches your passport details. If the data do not match, contact us or contact your nearest Qatar Airways office.
Be sure to print out a transit visa and carry it with you throughout your trip. A visa must be presented at check-in at the airport of departure and upon arrival in Qatar.
